To apply for admission to TSMC, you must meet admission requirements.

Step 1 Application:

Download and complete the application form with all your relevant details. Collate all required documents for application:

Required Documents for application

  • Highest academic certificate and transcript;
  • Passport-size photo (a digital copy is recommended);
  • (International applicants) IELTS or equivalent certification;
  • (International applicants) 1-minute video introduction of yourself, your musical experience and aspirations in English; and
  • Formal music qualification (eg. ABRSM, Trinity, LCM, Rockschool), if any.


  1. All documents must be translated into English Language if in native language.

Submit the application form to You will be contacted for the payment of the application fee. Application fee is not refundable. Click here on mode of payment.

Step 2 Assessment:

Once all application materials are submitted, our admissions team will shortlist applicants for assessment of your portfolio of 3 sample works.

Types of portfolio works to submit (may choose more than 1, samples to be provided in videos or audio files):

  • Vocal Performance (original or cover song)
  • Instrumental Performance
  • Melody Composing (with vocal)
  • Music Arrangement

In TSMC, students will be required to write original songs very frequently. You are highly encouraged to submit original portfolio works.

Processing will take approximately 7 working days. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email. If successful, you will be issued a Offer Letter.


Students who have taken the following courses provided by The Songwriter Music College or FM Pop Music School are automatically exempted from the following modules. All other exemptions must be applied for and will only be considered on a case-by-case basis.
