Earlier this month, TSMC Principal Mr Eric Ng 黃韻仁, and digital content strategist/singer-songwriter Mr JJ Ong (Falling Feathers) conducted a virtual workshop with 30 participants tuning in.
The session was highly informative and provided insights, knowledge and tips for those wanting to work towards building a sustainable career in music. They also touched on the importance of partnerships and collaboration.
Some of the questions asked during the Q&A session were:
- “How do you produce music in Singapore if you’re super broke?”
- “What’s the best way to release music here in Singapore if you do not have a recording deal?”
- “With the current COVID situation shutting down many options like gigging and busking, what are some other viable income sources in a music career?”
A big thank you to all our participants! We sincerely hope that the session was inspiring and that you’ve learned something during the time.
Missed out on the workshop? Mr JJ Ong has also recently started a new blog dedicated to helping independent musicians work towards building a sustainable career in music!
